Viewgraphics' DMX board extends the potential of workstations andcomputers to true color applications. Three 8-bit display memory planes- red, green, and blue -- produce pictures of remarkable clarity, with
up to 16.7 million colors. A separate 8-bit memory plane provides up to256 colors for graphics overlay.DMX's onboard 68020 microprocessor system, running a realtime operatingsystem with up to 6.5 MB of onboard RAM coupled with graphics BITBLT andwindowing hardware, provides power for responsive, interactive graphicsand imagery display management.DMX architecture uses an extremely high-speed (200 MB per second) asyncexternal interface to connect to the most advanced video, imaging, andgraphics devices. The external interface is so fast that it is possibleto receive and display moving true color video in windows on the DMXdisplay.DMX plugs into VME-based systems and is available with a Pixrect DisplayDriver.
